What happens after prednisone is done?

Okay so a couple weeks ago I was prescribed prednisone for my excema which flared up for unknown reasons. So at first I was on 5mg, 12 pills initially for the first 3 days, then the doses decreased by 2 pills every 3 days. Now I'm on my last pill and i'm wondering, does my body produce its own now or will I need to get a refill and start back at 12 pills again?
